Live your "dream life" RIGHT NOW!

I am a DREAMER... and I catch myself dreaming a lot about the future... 3 months from now, 3 years from now, 30 years from now. I think about how great my (dream) life is going to be... what I will be doing, what Ryan will be doing and what our older kids will be doing. I have a lot of ideas of what our life will look like when...

our kids are in middle and high school
we have enough money to actually start our own businesses
Ryan has served his 20 years in the military
I am surprisingly skinny and really good-looking after having 4 kids
Most of the time when I am dreaming/planning about/for these things there is a strong "ministry drive" behind every plan... How will God use us and our family in 10, 20, 30 years from now??? I can tell you that I get excited just thinking about it! I love dreaming about those times!
Just a couple days ago I read this post from Pastor Steven Furtick's Blog and was really hit by the way that my dreaming and planning for the future can get in my way of my best life NOW.
Not that it is bad to think about the future and dream about how God will be able to use you at a different stage of life... but sometimes I forget to take the time and dream about RIGHT NOW.
I don't want to use what I have in this season of life as an excuse to not DO BIG things for God. I don't want to say to God "I can't do something BIG with you right now because...
my kids are too young"
I'm pregnant"
I am a single mom for the next year"
I don't have enough money"
The thing is... God has given me everything I need to accomplish something huge with HIS power and might in my life right now... today! I don't need to wait till "whenever" to live a dream life... I can live it now.
God can use me in THIS SEASON to accomplish something huge for HIS glory... I just pray that I can really focus on the "right now" long enough to live my dream life now :)

I used to get asked "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?" I would say I don't want to think about 10 years, I want to think about the here and now.

God will take care of the future and sometimes He invades our best laid plans for His glory. It's ok to dream about the future but God's dreams for us aren't always our dreams. Rest assured though that He sees the future and knows what's best for us.

With God involved in our dreams it's always an adventure!
