I had a few friends over for our 3rd week of Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. Ryan and I went through 5 of the 13 classes about a year ago and I am happy to be getting back into it again. I really agree with all of the things I have heard from Dave Ramsey so far and I hope Ryan and I can have enough discipline to carry out these steps to financial peace!
Saturday Morning Drama Practice
I help lead a youth drama/art team with my friend Jillian. You can read all about our adventures here at the ALIVE Blog that Jillian updates often. We have had a busy couple of weeks with a drama that happened this morning at church and a human video (a drama to a song)/dance that is happening this Wednesday at the very first MEGA WEDNESDAY youth night! We met up at 8 am on Saturday and worked hard until 11am when half of the kids went out in the cold to sell coupons to raise money for the mission trip this summer... oofta!
Jillian , I, some of the kids from the group, and of course Peyton went out to find a few props for Wednesday's performance. It was mostly unsuccessful... but we had fun :) Peyton really enjoyed spending time with one of the boys from the group... Austin. She was trying to impress him with her dance moves and cute smiles. I think it worked ;) We did have to take some pictures and send them to Austin's girlfriend just to warn her that there was a girl trying to take her man... I've been trying to tell Peyton that Austin is taken and a little too old for her... but she knows what she likes!
Saturday Night Sword Making and Movie Night
After our mostly unsuccessful shopping trip, Jillian and I ran to Walmart to pick up supplies to make swords for Wednesday night. We came back here to my house and crafted some pretty impressive fake swords... here is a picture of the progress. Not so impressive looking at that point... but they turned out well! And for only a few dollars each! Pretty fun!
After we worked so hard all day we really just wanted to RELAX... so we watched the movie that came from Netflix the day before... Gran Torino!
I apparently really need to girl-fy the Netflix DVD que... it's now on my to-do list! Although I wasn't loving the beginning of the movie... and then fell asleep during some of the middle... it ended really well!
Sunday Morning Church
We got to church early to run through the drama for a sound check and make sure we had everything in order. It went really well and we know God used it to speak to people! I went to the first service, which I don't usually attend, because I worked in the nursery with Peyton and all her friends during second service. So fun!
Sunday Afternoon Drama Practice
Ooooh man... are we living at church yet, or what?! We had our final practice today for the Wednesday night human video/dance... and it went REALLY well! We are so thankful and proud of our team! They are having lots of fun with it and it shows! God is being glorified for sure!
Now...
I am just relaxing at home and loving it! I got to "talk" with Ryan today for a bit on Skype... but because he is 3 blocks from the nearest wireless modem, the Internet connection is spotty at best. So for the past week we have only been able to use the typing chat method... that should be changing this week though :) Yay! Also, we are having a phone date tomorrow night!!! I am so excited!
Well... I'm off to bed... nice and EARLY! For the first time in a looooong time, I'm going to try to doze off before 1:30 am. It's going to be so great! Enjoy the rest of YOUR weekend!

when you write it all out it sounds so overwhelming...haha but im remembering how tired we were at walmart...oh man...haha
good times friend! :)
I really enjoyed the drama on Sunday morning. It really spoke of the need to forgive so we don't allow ourselves to be held in bondage by unforgiveness. I look forward to Wednesday's drama, thanks Alive team!
Sarah, thanks for the privilege of serving you and Peyton while Ryan is gone. I know we can never in a million years replace him, but I hope that we have been able to ease the burden of "single mom syndrome" for you. Call on us whenever you have a need and we will do our best to fulfill it. Love you, Peyton, Ryan, and baby Vandis (even so we haven't met him yet). :)
Sounds SO fun! :-) I loved the drama... can't wait for Wednesday night!!
