It has been 2 FULL days since I have been husband-less. We dropped Ryan off at the airport on Tuesday morning (He was able to come home for the weekend instead of leaving with everyone else on Friday because they needed to finalize some paperwork) at 8:15 and since then I have experienced...
Peace
&
Poop
Let me explain...
Peace
"Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel." Philippians 4:7 (Contemporary English Version)
This is totally how I have been feeling these past 2 days. I have a peace that I can't even understand... it's been unreal. I have a feeling of relief that comes from being so unsure of our future for the past 2.5 years... we are finally doing something! We have, for so long, been "waiting" on God to show us His plan for our lives, and now we can see that He is moving and working! Amen! We really had nothing to do with this deployment... it gives me comfort to know that there is no way that we could have screwed something up here. We couldn't have done something wrong, because we had no control over the situation :) That gives me peace!
I am so thankful for all the prayers that I know people are praying for us. God is faithful and He is answering those prayers! For sure!
Poop
Peyton has been having pretty MAJOR diarrhea since Saturday... we went to the Doctor yesterday and they said that they couldn’t really do anything, that it could last 7-10 days, and to just keep doin' what we're doin'. Not helpful.
Anyways... on Tuesday, on the way home from the airport, Peyton had a HUGE blowout in her car seat. When I opened up the back door to get her out of the car I saw her sitting in about 2 inches of yellow watery poop. So, I uninstalled the car seat from the car and took the whole shebang into the laundry room with Peyton still safely buckled in. I stripped her down to her diaper, realized I was getting poop on me so stripped myself down to my undergarments, and brought her upstairs to the bathroom. Then I thought to take off her diaper over a garbage bag to try and contain some mess... We went into the kitchen, I brought out a garbage bag and opened it on the counter and took off her diaper into the bag. Would have been helpful too, except that her diaper had like 5% of the poop in it. Ehh.
So I bring her back to the bathroom and stand her on the floor while I am getting a towel, I turn around to her slipping and sliding all over the floor... in a puddle of her own pee. Perfect. Thanks girl. I wipe up the pee, and plop her in the tub. I clean her off with the removable showerhead and the adventure is over.
Since then, she has had 4 big (big= poop everywhere, including on the floor/crib sheets/ hair/ car seat... you get the idea) blowouts including the one she just had tonight which prevented us from going into Cub to get a couple groceries on the way home from church, and slightly leaky diarrhea diapers at least 4 times a day. Not happy.
She is not going easy on this newly "single" mom. :)
Happy news-
Ryan got a new laptop tonight, complete with a built-in web cam! Hello Skype! I am so excited that we have the technology to be able to see each other even when we are on opposite sides of the world.
I’m off to be lazy and try to stay awake to watch last week’s episode of the office :) Goodnight!
