Things That I Love: Baby Edition

My life has been less than blogworthy lately so I decided write about a few things that my babies have that I totally recommended to new moms, aunties that want to be the favorite, people that don't have kids but have to go to baby showers with a gift... all of the above!

#1

We call it the glow worm.  It just sounds better.  This little guy glows and plays soft songs and gurgling water sounds for a full 5 minutes.  It's magical.  I can not tell you how many times I have pressed the belly of mrs pink glow worm and mr blue glow worm.  I just lay it next to Van's head and it puts him right to sleep... worked the same way with Peyton.  It's a God-send for sure!

#2

I have 15 or 20 of these and I go through them in a week, if not less than a week.  I use them for so many different things...

Burrito Baby!

Babies love to be swaddled and it calms them down so quickly.  Peyton slept swaddled every night for at least 3 months... and Vandis is swaddled every night and lots of times during the day.

Spit Up Catcher

When Vandis spits up at night in his bassinet all I do is flip over or refold the receiving blanket that I place under his head.  That way he is not laying in a wet spot and I  don't have to change his sheets! Win Win!

Burp Cloth

Just throw it up over your shoulder or chest or lap... and you are covered!

Nursing Cover Up

When I'm around people that aren't Peyton or Vandis I cover up while I nurse.  Your welcome.  Receiving Blankets are the best for covering up with.  They are just the right size to cover and are lightweight enough that baby can eat without sweating up a storm or falling asleep.  Perfect!

Receiving Blankets are ALL OVER my house and car and purse and diaper bag! I use them constantly... LOVE THEM!

Contours Options Tandem Stroller

This stroller is UH-MAZING. I love love love it!  There is a HUGE amount of storage space.

Peyton usually sits facing forward in the front. And I have Vandis' car seat facing me in the back.

But when we were at the zoo a couple weekends ago,Peyton was running around and not using the stroller.  I moved the car seat attachment to the front and the front seat to the back and faced it backward.  Then I reclined it and made Vandis a little bed.  It was perfect!

Here's how it looked when I had both of them in it on the way out to the car.

I bought it at Burlington Baby Depot (in Northtown Mall if you live nearby) for $120.  It came with 2 seats and the car seat attachment.  It pushes more easily than my Graco stroller that I had for Peyton... and that was  just a one seater!

There are only 2 cons that I have found...

In order to fold it fully (so that it latches shut) you have to remove the seats.  I don't fold it fully.  It juuust fits in the back of the mini van.  No big deal.

The seats do not have trays... they only have a bar. So when I want to give Peyton (and eventually Vandis) a snack to keep them quiet happy, I have to give her a container that she can throw off the side.  It hasn't really been an issue yet though.

There you have it folks!  My top 3 picks for baby :)
