Time with my Pey Girl

My Peyton is a special girl to a lot of people... she is a "first" for many...
  • First child for Ryan and me
  • First grandchild for both sides of our families
  • First baby in our group of friends
One of my priorities after having Van was to get home and spend time with my little lady.  (She had a rough few days while I was in the hospital.  Even though she was with her Grandparents (both sides) that she loves spending time with VERY MUCH, she was just not adapting to time away from mom as well as she usually does. I think that with her daddy being gone and not back yet she was worried that she wouldn't see me for a long time.  It's hard/impossible to explain to a 1 year old what a year's time is compared to 3 days time... or even what a year or a day is for that matter.)  I wanted to make sure that she knew that I loved her that day just as much as I did before I left and that with Vandis here she wasn't going to have to beg for my attention all the time.  It's very easy to show my little girl love.  She is just so sweet and loving herself that you just can't help but be that right back to her.  So when Peyton got dropped off at home on Thursday we got to snuggle and give hugs and kisses... it was perfect!

Today Peyton and I got to spend more time together, just the two of us.  While Van was sleeping (like he always is) we got to play with her new kitchen, eat dinner, have cookies, dance and play!  Such a fun time :)  Here is a video of my girl's dance moves.

Disclaimer: If you are offended by a 17 month old "dropping it like it's hot" and "shaking what her momma gave her" don't watch this video

I have many ideas of how Peyton and I will get to spend quality girl time together (with any other sisters she may have, as well as just a momma and her firstborn) getting our nails done, going shopping, taking mini overnight vacations... fun GIRL stuff!  But for now... dancing in the kitchen is more than perfect.
