lots of stuff...

so, i don't really post new stuff very often... and i have lots of fun stuff to talk about from the past few days. i'm just going to fit it all into this post!

well on thursday we had our ALIVE team Christmas party (you can read more about it on the ALIVE blog) where we exchanged white elephant gifts, had some yummy snacks, and jillian said a devo about asking God that He use a specific part of your body to serve Him. so so good! we didn't have dice to use for the white elephant gift game... so we were resourceful... :)

so fun!

on friday night we had a christmas party for the "college age" (sorta) people at my church. a few of us got together early and made some yummy treats.

oh, just to let you know... i designed this platter :)

...this is our cute punch bowl / cake holder

and my little princess with her godfather jon

finally today, miss p and i went over to grandma and grandpa heineman's and made christmas cookies. unfortunately i was too busy baking that i didn't get any pictures :( but i did get a picture of what i made for dinner tonight!

i got the recipe for the no-yeast crust from steph at sharing the pages of life.

so delish!

also... just a word of encouragement that i was reminded of in a conversation with my mother-in-law today...

God can use ANYTHING for his glory. even though we as humans don't always make the right decisions... God can work in bad situations and bad choices. just ask Him how you can make your mistakes into something He can use, and listen for His answer. He'll probably surprise you! really!!! i mean, He even can gain glory from someone who doesn't want any glory to go to Him...

Exodus 14: 1-4
1 Then the LORD said to Moses, 2 "Tell the Israelites to turn back and encamp near Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. They are to encamp by the sea, directly opposite Baal Zephon. 3 Pharaoh will think, 'The Israelites are wandering around the land in confusion, hemmed in by the desert.' 4 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD." So the Israelites did this.

AMEN!

You have become quite the chef. such wonderful food. You will have to cook for your mom and dad sometime! Thank you also for the encouraging words. Our God is so faithful and true to His word. He is glorified in the most unusual ways from a lowly birth in a manger to death on a cross. He uses the most humble to make great His name. What an amazing God we serve!
