friendship :)

yesterday i got to see my dear friend stephanie and her two adorable girls :) i went over for lunch and had some yummy soup. its so fun to get together with our girls, we're pretty sure they are going to be best friends!

i also got together with my good friend jillian... on top of being friends, we also co-lead ALIVE, a youth drama/art team at edinbrook church. the team meets on thursday nights and jillian and i meet at least one other time during the week to plan things out. while it is always our intention to be "highly productive" during our planning session, we are not always highly productive in the area of ALIVE...

last night we were thinking and talking more about different areas of ministry and where we should be putting ourselves. we got to thinking that an area that can be overlooked in the church is building a bridge between high school and college age church-goers. so many people stop going to church once they get to college because they don't "have" to go anymore and they are just more interested in sleeping in. one way to change that (we think) is by making relationships with the people in the church so you have another level of motivation to get up in the morning.

so in our "highly productive" state of mind we though that it would be so fun to plan a sleepover with the high school girls and college age girls in our church! also we plan to start thinking about a 6 or 8 week long purity class that we could lead the girls through. how fun this all will be and what a great way to start relationships with these wonderful girls.

jillian and i will be meeting tonight again because of our lack of ALIVE focused planning and we will hopefully be figuring out what to do with this lovely group of kids on thursday :)
yes, this is our ALIVE group... well some of them. we had fun during our stage makeup night :)
