An Overnight in Rochester

Hi friends!

I feel like I've kind of been out of the blog world lately.  Must have something to do with all the free time I seem to be having.

Yeah... must be.

In case you were wondering, yes, my husband does come home for 17 days starting Monday.  And yes, we are excited.

Yesterday my friends Alissa (who is visiting home for a couple weeks, she lives in El Paso now) and Dan joined my kids and me in a little 2 hour road trip down to Paul and Bethany's house in Rochester.  Bethany, Alissa and I go way back.

Like WAY back.  Here we are (Alissa, Bethany and me) after a weekend trip with Alissa's parents back in 2002.  So... I was in 8th grade, they were in 9th?  I think that's right :)  Fun memories, and even better clothes.

With Alissa living in Texas, Bethany living in Rochester, and me living in Minneapolis we don't get together that often and it was a ton of fun hanging out!  Here we are on Friday night.  The boys were upstairs with us girls for about 5 minutes until they realized that playing video games was much more exciting than "doing nothing".

Today we went over to Paul's parents (who were out of town) house.  They just built their beautiful home (it started out as just an addition to the small home that was already there... and got bigger and bigger till they had an entire house!  So fun!), and it's on a lake.  Gorgeous!

Dan and Peyton played a beautiful duet.

We went out to go on a little boat ride and then the boat wouldn't start.

But we didn't let that get us down!

We played some fun games (Chutes and Ladders, and scattergories... ps, I totally ROCK at scattergories... I won by a landslide of 1 point) and relaxed...  it was the best!

Thank you Paul and Bethany for having us over!  We enjoyed our time together and can't wait to do it again!  Love you!

I can't wait to post about the fathers in my life tomorrow!
